What To Do With Leftover Halloween Candy

Trick-or-treating is over, candy comas have come and gone, and we all still have a surplus of sweets laying around the house. The candy world is your oyster and your options for leftover candy usage are endless: use it when baking treats, give it as gifts, freeze it for a later time – there is so much you can do. But maybe this year you want to do something different, something for someone else. Maybe this year you want to take an opportunity to teach your kids about charity. Maybe this year you want to donate some of that leftover candy. There are a ton of spots where taking candy donations this year.

Where To Donate

Operation Gratitude has sent out over 1 million packages oversees to the U.S. troops, to their families waiting their return, and to veterans. With a mission to “put a smile on soldiers’ faces,” they open up their candy bags to collect donations after the Halloween candy overload. You can send letters and pictures along with the candy donations – something to show your gratitude and brighten up their days. Learn how to donate to Operation Gratitude here.
